So in the video above, I give you an in-depth look at the development of the new Titan X game, with the help of a team of developers and writers from the gaming media. Although I didn’t develop the game, I’ve been in the industry since the mid-90s, so I’m fully aware of the process and the evolution of gaming.
I want to make it clear I am not a Titan X fan. I’ve played the game, I’ve seen the game, and I’ve read the game’s blog. I dont enjoy the way the game plays, the way the game looks, or the games mechanics. But I have to admit I am somewhat intrigued by the technology behind the game, and the idea of a game that can be played on a console that has been around for three generations.
To say its a classic first person shooter, and I mean that in the most complimentary way, is an understatement. Deathloop is a well developed first person shooter with a focus on stealth and close quarters combat. There are no enemies, no bosses, and it has never been about running and gunning. We see enemies only when they are in the way, and our aim has to be precise and quick, otherwise we just waste precious time.
The one thing that’s missing in Deathloop, it’s that it has to be the one person shooting the other, which leaves me with a question.
Titan X has a very unique approach to combat, which many people find to be somewhat counterintuitive. Instead of using a power-based arsenal of weapons, Titan X is a very team-based combat system. The weapons are just the tools of the trade, the combat is all about the team. The idea of playing Deathloop is to take out eight Visionaries by stealing their party island on a very specific date. The game is set to launch this summer on Xbox One and PC.
Titan X is a very interesting new addition to the massively multiplayer online shooter genre. With very long, deep, and complex dungeons and other areas to conquer, it’s a very unique FPS experience. I’m hoping we get to see a lot more of it in our lifetime.
It is, but even with all the new stuff, Titan X is still essentially a shooter in the way that most of us (myself included) play FPS games. It still feels very much like the standard FPS experience, and while the combat is better, that is nothing new. Our goal was to take out eight Visionaries, with the goal of liberating the island and saving the world (and the universe). This was definitely one of the big things that kept us playing Deathloop.
It looks like the new Titan X game is going to take a new approach to the shooting. While the game will retain the classic FPS action, it isn’t going to use the new ‘death’ mechanic of seeing the player die in slow motion as the main way to kill people. Instead, the game will use your guns to take out Visionaries, and we’ll see that in action in a few hours’ time.
The most obvious part of this strategy is that you will see the player die in slow motion, but not from gunfire. Instead, the game will use your guns to kill Visionaries. The game will give us a few hours to save the world, maybe even a few minutes after the player dies.
But hey, the player-killing strategy is still a gimmick, and not an option.
