What is a Cold Wallet?
The short answer
A wallet whose keys are stored completely offline, disconnected from the internet — the most secure storage option.
A cold wallet (most commonly a hardware wallet) keeps private keys on a device that never connects directly to the internet, making it far harder for remote attackers to reach. It trades a little convenience for meaningfully better security.
