What is an Airdrop?
The short answer
Free distribution of a new token to existing holders of another crypto or to early users of a platform.
Legitimate airdrops exist as a marketing and distribution tool, but fake “claim your airdrop” links asking for a seed phrase or wallet connection are also a common scam vector — verify the source directly before claiming anything.
